The IT Department of Dubai Municipality has implemented performance management software in 38 of its departments. The software helps link daily tasks with the municipality’s overall organisational strategy, while providing effective communication with clearly identified measures and targets. The implementation gives the Municipality the tools to assess and measure hard-to-define outcomes. “The highly targeted, cost-effective solution will work to develop and implement an effective performance management framework that will help the municipality enhance delivery of services to clients,” said Yousif Shams, Head of System Development & Support Section, IT Department, Dubai Municipality. “We recognise the value and importance of engaging everyone at Dubai Municipality to manage the organisation’s performance, and deploying this solution is a step towards realising this goal,” he added. The software from Briefing Books, measures 60 different performance indicators allowing customisable reports to be created and distributed throughout the enterprise to drive performance improvements by better aligning goals and increasing operational efficiency. “Performance management solutions are intended to improve the capability of an organisation to gain insight and manage performance at all levels by combining stakeholders, managers, staff, customers and suppliers within an integrated management environment," said Maryam Ahmed Al Hammadi, Head of Performance Management Section and Assistant Manager, Administrative Development & Quality Department, Dubai Municipality. "The implementation of this software at Dubai Municipality will not only help in efficient performance management, it will also contribute to higher levels of productivity and customer service,” he added.
