CIPS takes a bow in Middle East

Procurement and supply chain managers will be able to benefit from the first ever conference organised by the UK’s Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) for this region. Taking place on 8 - 9 May 2006, in Dubai, ‘The Inaugural Middle East e-sourcing & e-procurement Conference’ is aimed at helping specialists in the field of procurement and supply chain management understand the key issues in the world of e-commerce. The conference is being held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy and Planning, UAE and will be chaired by Duncan Eaton, chief executive of the UK’s NHS Purchasing & Supply Agency. The event will see a number of senior procurement experts from both the UK and the Middle speak, including Steven Pink, general manager, IT & Indirect Procurement, at British Airways and Omar Hijazi, CEO of the UAE’s Tejari.
