Regional value-added distributor Tech Access has appointed Sarah Bentley as its new marketing manager, claiming that the appointment reflects its ongoing commitment to support its growing partner community. Bentley will cover Tech Access’ operations across the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan and Levant. She brings more than a dozen years of channel and marketing experience to the operation and will handle the distributor’s regional marketing and communications initiatives. Prior to joining Tech Access, Bentley held positions at BlackSpider where she was responsible for the company’s channel partner programme, including channel strategy, partner recruitment and lead generation. BlackSpider is one of Tech Access’ current vendor partners. Before BlackSpider, Bentley held the position of global channel marketing manager at RSA, managing a partner programme that included 2,000 distributors, resellers and systems integrators. “The Middle East market for IT suppliers is growing steadily year-on-year, which means that clients want to invest in technology that will grow with their needs,” said Bentley. “Competition in the enterprise and mid-market space is becoming quite fierce among international IT suppliers, with more companies chasing an ever-growing Middle East communications-reliant market. “This is an exciting time for Tech Access. Our broadened portfolio of products and services strengthens our value proposition to the enterprise and mid-market sectors and we are working with our vendor partners to develop comprehensive marketing plans. We will announce a reseller recruitment campaign shortly,” she added. Tech Access now boasts four offices in the region in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco. The distributor has expanded its product portfolio in recent months, signing up a number of vendors including BlackSpider, Mercury and Huawei. Tech Access had previously focused the vast bulk of its efforts on its regional role as a channel development provider for Sun. However, this involved working with a limited number of partners across the region. To do justice to the total market opportunity available for its expanded product portfolio, Tech Access needs to increase its channel reach and breadth and Bentley’s appointment marks a step in the right direction.
