NEC Computers has extended its web training tools to strengthen the online education of its enterprise-focused international channel partners. The dedicated channel education tools will be used to bring partners up to speed on NEC server, storage and workstation solutions. NEC partners from the international region, which covers a wide region including both South America and the Middle East, will receive regular monthly training on the latest in enterprise IT solutions. The online training, aimed at technology specialists and partner sales staff, operates as a series of web sessions held at pre-defined times. Simultaneously connected by phone and online, resellers will be able to follow presentations in real time and ask questions. “The NEC international channel perceives this competency training as a massive benefit for their knowledge and confidence on the whole range of NEC enterprise solutions. Since this programme has been started we have received only positive feedback from the channel partners that have participated.” comments Jon Green, senior product marketing manager for the enterprise computing division. “For NEC also there is no need to wait for a specific number of partners to sign up before organising and rolling out trainings, which means our partners are getting valuable product and solutions information both sooner and quicker,” added Green. “With these online trainings we can update our partners on all the latest product and solutions roadmaps in a proactive way and on a regular basis, enabling us to reach both more and better targeted sales and pre-sales staff within the partners throughout the international region,” Green continued. Annick Reyngoudt, senior marketing manager at the international division of NEC Computers, said: “We are always focused on ways of enhancing our partners’ skills. With these competency web trainings we are continuing to build strength into our channel, especially for our value platforms. This way of training the partners was the missing link between the regular face-to-face meetings we organise and the online secured extranet we opened last year.” More than 50 members of NEC’s international channel community participated in the last web training, including partners from Bahrain. The training also focuses on highlighting the unique selling points of NEC products compared to rival vendor offering.
