Networking vendor Juniper has named Frank J. Vitagliano as its new VP for worldwide channels. Vitagliano joins Juniper from IBM, where he held the position of VP worldwide distribution channels. “I’m pleased to welcome Frank to the team,” commented Eddie Minshull, executive VP worldwide field operations at juniper. “He brings a wealth of experience in leading world class channel organisations and an outstanding track record as a channel leader, advocate and partner. I’m confident Frank will be an invaluable asset as we continue to scale the J-Partner programme and build win-win relationships with our partners.” Vitagliano replaces Tishar Kothari who is leaving Juniper to pursue other opportunities. In his most recent role at IBM, Vitagliano was responsible for the development and implementation of Big Blue’s worldwide distribution strategy for the server and storage business. Prior to that, he held the position of VP distribution channel management for IBM’s PC division, with worldwide responsibility for the go-to-market strategy for a unit with annual revenues of approximately US$10 billion. Between 1998 and 2000, Vitagliano led the redesign and development of an indirect channel strategy for the business. During his time at IBM, Vitagliano also held a number of other leadership positions in sales, marketing and channels. Juniper’s J-Partner channel programme claims to revolutionise the way that resellers and vendors work together. Regardless of purchase volume, the programme aims to reward resellers for the value a partner adds in the sales and support of Juniper solutions. Various specialisation and certification options are also available to resellers.
