La Maison de Beauté Carita facial and body treatments are arriving at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai’s Spa in March. “We wanted something original, high end and with a good international brand image and after researching extensively we decided on Carita. There are not many Carita spas in Dubai so we wanted to have something different and that would pull people to the hotel. Carita already had a brand following, and we needed something to stay in line with our high-end hotel product,” Sarah Lumley, director of spa and recreation of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, told Leisure Manager. Staff at the spa underwent an 18-day intensive training programme in February with Carita specialists in order to be ready for this month’s launch. “Carita is a facial specialist. The company has developed a prolifting machine, especially made to do facials, so each facial has special benefits. Guests come in and have a consultation, if they really want a good anti aging facial they would have the specific one for that skin type,” Lumley explained. Therapists combine specially developed massage techniques with the exclusive ‘pro-lifting’ tool, which is used in three ways to cleanse, nourish and smooth fine lines and wrinkles from the skin. Slack muscles are lifted and re-sculpted, skin tissue is fully oxygenated and the complexion is brightened and refreshed. Maria and Rosy Carita, the first female hairdressers in Paris, created the Carita brand back in the 1960s. Carita treatments are already being used in a number of Ritz-Carlton hotels worldwide, including Bahrain, Huntingdon, Sarasota, George Town, South Beach Miami and Marina Del Ray.
