The boss of Zenithmedia’s award-winning Cairo operation is to take on additional responsibilities across its rapidly expanding network. Rasha Karim, general manager of Zenithmedia Cairo, has been promoted to regional operations director. She will be responsible for driving the quality of media planning across the network’s Middle East operation. As well as running the agency’s Sudan and Libya clients from Cairo, the agency already has offices in Dubai and Kuwait. And it has just opened an operation in Morocco, which will also manage clients in Tunisia and Algeria. A Beirut office is to follow. Karim, who will report to Hassib Gebara, MD for Zenithmedia MENA, said: “My aim is to make sure the quality of creative media is the same across the whole Middle East network. I’ll be making sure the offices are very comfortable using the tools we have available to us and are using them properly.” Matt Blackborn, CEO MENA of Publicis Groupe Media, said: “I am delighted that Rasha is taking on a wider role in managing the Zenith business in the region. “As GM of our Egypt operation, she has proven herself to be an extremely talented and successful leader and this new role gives her the opportunity to inject the same level of drive, enthusiasm and skill across markets as the Zenith brand continues to grow.” Zenithmedia Cairo, which is only two years old and is part of the Publicis Groupe, was named media agency of the year and took the gold award in the media plan category of this year’s Campaign Awards.
