IraqCom has been named as the first official Oracle approved education provider (OAEP) in Iraq. The Iraqi systems integrator and training company signed the partnership agreement at Oracle’s offices in Dubai Internet City. “Oracle certifications are among the most sought by the public and private sectors in Iraq,” said Dr. Diar Ahmed, CEO at Iraqcom Technologies. “This milestone boosts IraqCom as the centre of IT excellence in Iraq, and serves our mission to participate effectively and efficiently in the process of reconstruction of Iraq and be the provider of top tier IT products and services.” “We have the pleasure to be a successful member of the prestigious OAEP family and look forward to a long and lucrative relationship with Oracle,” he added. The OAEP programme leverages partner facilities and instructor resources to deliver Oracle technology education’s core curriculum to the emerging marketplace of Iraq. According to the vendor, the experience for a customer attending an OAEP course is on a par with going to a direct Oracle education centre. By signing up IraqCom, Oracle plans to deliver high quality instruction using Oracle courseware within partner facilities that meet Oracle’s strict specifications. Striking a partnership inside Iraq also means that customers will be able to participate in education programmes without facing the higher travel and accommodation costs associated with taking courses outside the country. Alfred Chrispanous, Oracle University partner manager for the Middle East, said: “It is indeed a pleasure to welcome IraqCom Technologies as a partner on board with Oracle University and we hope to see tremendous results occur from this partnership in the highly promising market if Iraq.” Ali Zaid, Iraq territory manager at Oracle, added: “We worked from day one to get all the Oracle technology sectors present in Iraq and this achievement of IraqCom is just crowning our efforts.” Headquartered in Sulaimaniyah, Iraq, IraqCom bills itself as an end-to-end IT solution provider for both public and private corporations and enterprises.
