STME boosts breadth

Regional storage integrator STME boosted its client base 30% in 2005, adding major new accounts including Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI), MBC, Dubai Petroleum Company, Landmark Graphics, Shell Egypt, Saudi Holland Bank and Saudia Airlines to name a few.

Regional storage integrator STME boosted its client base 30% in 2005, adding major new accounts including Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI), MBC, Dubai Petroleum Company, Landmark Graphics, Shell Egypt, Saudi Holland Bank and Saudia Airlines to name a few. During 2005 STME also hired in-country sales managers in Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Pakistan while simultaneously doubling its sales force in core markets such as the UAE. Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait. Jocelyn Al Adwani, deputy CEO at STME, said: “We have put in place a network of highly experienced sales personnel in markets across the Middle East and North Africa to strengthen our presence and fully tap the market potential in these regions.” “2005 was a very successful year for us, both in terms of regional business expansion and increase in client portfolio. We have enhanced our reputation in the market as a trusted storage integration specialist, which is evident from the fact that leading organisations continue to adopt our best of breed solutions,” Al Adwani continued. “The Symantec enterprise vault archiving and compliance solutions and connected data protector enterprise-wide PC back-up solutions that we introduced in 2005 have also been in high demand in the market,” she added. STME boosted its sales 20% in 2005 but the company has not divulged its full year revenues. As well as winning new customers, STME also bagged a number of repeat orders from major customers including Al Jazeera TV, PWC Logistics, Aggreko and Panasonic. During January, STME held its annual sales meeting in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The event was attended by representatives from leading vendors that work through STME including EMC, Sun, Cisco, Symantec, Network Appliance and ACAL.
