HP’s Cristoph Schell is heading south to take up a new role within the global IT giant. Schell, currently general manager for HP’s solutions partner organisation (SPO) for the international sales Europe (ISE) region, will assume a new role as VP and general manager of HP South Pacific’s imaging and printing and consumer group. Schell will start the transition into his new role in March and expects to be fully dedicated to the new position by the end of April. Schell has a decade of experience at HP under his belt and has a consistent record of sales growth, according to the vendor. HP's South Pacific theatre includes Australia. The ISE region, which includes the Middle East and Africa, is recognised as HP’s fastest growing region in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) theatre. HP has not yet named Schell’s replacement for the ISE SPO role. Schell, who had previously been serving as general manager of HP’s personal systems group (PSG) in the Middle East, became SPO general manager for ISE region in May 2005. Schell was given the task of accelerating HP’s PartnerOne channel initiative rollout across a massive geographic area covering a colossal 105 countries including Austria, Switzerland, central and eastern Europe, and extending across Russia and CIS, Africa and the Middle East. In his ISE SPO role, Schell was also responsible for the entire channel organization encompassing volume, value and services partners for the ISE region, and also played a pivotal role in the rollout of HP’s preferred partner programme.
