TuranAlem banks on 3i

Indian software firm 3i Infotech wins the contract to supply IT solutions to Bank TuranAlem (BTA), the leading retail bank in Kazakhstan.

Indian software firm 3i Infotech has won the contract to supply IT solutions to Bank TuranAlem (BTA), the leading retail bank in Kazakhstan. The bank will use Triton, 3i’s Universal Lending Solution to assist its operations in loan origination, management and collection. After implementing the solution in Kazakhstan, BTA will extend its use to seven of its subsidiaries across the CIS region. Under the terms of the agreement, valued at US$2.3m, 3i Infotech will also supply BTA with in-depth business and technology consulting services. “We were looking for a new generation technology solution which was highly functional, adaptable and scaleable,” said Bolat Baimirov, deputy chairman of Bank TuranAlem’s retail division. “3i Infotech’s Triton has all these attributes and, in addition, 3i Infotech is known for its domain expertise in retail banking consulting. “Trition’s USP lies in its compatibility with conventional and Islamic retail banking products and procedures, covering mortgages, personal loans, auto and insurance agents as well as credit bureaus.” Hari Padmanabhan, deputy managing director of 3i Infotech, said: “We are pleased to be working with Bank TuranAlem, a world-class organisation. This win further strengthens our commitment to increase our presence in the CIS region.”
