Qatar Airways has teamed up with Taleo, a NASDAQ-quoted provider of on demand talent management software solutions, as the fast-growing airline looks to double its staff headcount during the next five years. Taleo has carved out an impressive niche in the talent management software solution space with more than 350 corporate customers and approximately 500,000 registered users around the world. According to Taleo, its solutions allow companies to assess, acquire and manage their workforce for improved business performance. Qatar Airways plans to use Taleo’s solutions to improve the process, efficiency and effectiveness of its global talent management strategy. The Taleo solution will manage Qatar Airways’ interview and screening process where candidates are flown to Qatar for a face-to-face meeting. Both companies claim that the automation of this once manual and inconsistent process will result in cost saving, productivity and process improvement as well as enhancing the candidate experience. “Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world and gaining a huge reputation for our high service levels,” said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker. “In just a little over a year, we’ve increased our operations from 49 to 69 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East. As we continue along our aggressive growth path, our workforce inevitably needs to grow with us. We felt it was important to have a talent management solution in place to assist us in recruiting the “crème de la crème” of professionals in the airline industry that will help continue to make Qatar Airways a successful business.” “After a detailed selection process, we selected Taleo for its global HR and talent management best practices and proven ability to help other global organizations successfully grow their business with the right talent. Additionally, Taleo’s track record in successful global implementations and ongoing customer service and support will allow our IT department to focus on other mission critical aviation systems during our growth phase,” he continued Neil Hudspith, group VP EMEA at Taleo, commented: “We are delighted to be working with the Qatar Airways team to help them achieve their business objectives through an enterprise wide talent management strategy.” “With our growing operations throughout EMEA and our ability to adapt to local needs and specific business challenges, we look forward to delivering impressive results and increases in productivity to Qatar Airways. We commend their team for recognizing that quality talent truly contributes to enterprise success and are excited to support and accompany their global growth plans,” he added.
