EMC unveils velocity SMB partner programme

Storage giant EMC has continued fleshing out its velocity partner programme, introducing a channel component focused on serving the needs of solution providers targeting the small and medium business (SMB) customer space.

Storage giant EMC has continued fleshing out its velocity partner programme, introducing a channel component focused on serving the needs of solution providers targeting the small and medium business (SMB) customer space. The EMC velocity SMB partner programme will enable, support and reward channel partners selling the new EMC Insignia line of software and hardware products, which enable SMBs to store, manage, protect and share their vital business information. “The EMC velocity SMB partner programme extends EMC’s firm commitment to building long-term channel relationships,” said Larry Zulch, VP and general manager, EMC Insignia. “We want to respond to the specific needs of the SMB reseller and solution provider community and help them grow their businesses by arming them with industry-leading storage and information management solutions.” EMC’s new line of Insignia hardware and software products are aimed at meeting the needs of SMBs wanting to store, manage, protect and share vital business information. According to EMC, all Insignia products have been tested to ensure that they work, individually, together and with third-party software and hardware. The SMB programme put in place by EMC will offer strong support for the Insignia range, including online training modules, dedicated sales support and pre-sales technical assistance, lead referrals, performance-based rebates and co-op funds. The EMC velocity SMB programme will be structured as a two-tiered programme and will operate as a complementary scheme to the EMC velocity partner programme that serves commercial and enterprise-focused resellers, solution providers, distributors, systems integrators and ISVs. “With the launch of EMC Insignia and the velocity SMB programme, EMC continues to demonstrate its commitment to the channel and SMB resellers,” said Pete Peterson, VP, systems product marketing at Tech Data. “These products and support programme, specifically tailored to the needs of SMB resellers, make it even easier for solution providers to capitalise on the latest storage trends, remain competitive, and grow their businesses.”
