Hy-Tech Logistics has announced two new innovations aimed at logistics companies due to operate from Dubai Logistics City. The company will launch a new website in February for employers and job seekers (www.recruit-logistics.com) to highlight the global availability of logistics opportunities. In addition, Hy-Tech Logistics, in partnership with Learning Logistics Alliance (LLA), is also launching an educational programme aimed at enticing ‘school leavers’ and non-logistics personnel into the industry. This initiative aims to address the shortage problem of qualified practitioners within the logistics industry worldwide. The full time programme, titled “Apprenticeship in Supply Chain Management”, will concentrate on essential core modules such as warehousing, inventory, transport, freight forwarding and procurement. “We will run the programmes in a similar format to our Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) accredited programmes,” said Stuart Burke, managing director, Hy-Tech Logistics. “After the student completes a module, they will be placed with a sponsor company for hands on experience. This will insure that the student and their potential employers will benefit from day one of their employment contract.”
