Storage switch vendor Brocade has boosted its channel team with the appointment of Timm Hoyt as channel sales manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Latin America. Hoyt will be charged with expanding the vendor’s channel-based revenues across the territory that he covers. Hoyt has been with Brocade for over years and previously managed the company’s global OEM relationships. Hoyt will now work alongside a team of regional channel managers to widen and increase Brocade’s network of partners. Brocade has already signed up four European distributors to its Brocade tapestry fabric partner programme — ACAL, Bell Microproducts, Demand IT and InTechnology. While Brocade has developed a strong network of partners in Europe it has not yet recruited any distributors in the Middle East. Brocade launched its tapestry fabric partner programme in September 2005 to focus specifically on partners selling specific Brocade products including its application resource manager, wide area file services and data migration manager. The four distributors on board are working closely with Brocade to deliver these products and services to the company’s network of pan-European resellers as well as recruiting and training up in-country partners. “The tapestry portfolio is designed to help organisations address the difficulties in managing resources and ensuring data can be accessed efficiently,” said Barbara Spicek, director partner sales Brocade EMEA and Latin America. “The Tapestry fabric partner programme will enable our partners to leverage the business opportunities presented by this new technology. We are excited at working with pan-European distributors such as these to drive the uptake of our tapestry products.” The tapestry fabric partner programme offers qualified resellers a range of benefits including sales and marketing support, education and training as well as technical tools and materials.
