Fusion Distribution has struck an agreement with Network Engines, a leading appliance partner for Microsoft security solutions, to distribute the vendor’s products in the Middle East. Under the terms of the deal, value-added security distribution specialist Fusion will offer its resellers the entire family of Network Engine’s NS series security appliances. “There is already a sizeable market for security appliances in the Middle East and there is every indication that demand is set to increase which is why we have partnered with Fusion to take advantage of the growing opportunities,” said Gareth Green, general manager, EMEA and APAC at Network Engines. “Fusion has an impressive portfolio and offer an excellent suite of IT security products to their channel partners. They operate with a core team of specialised individuals and have an excellent level of expertise in IT security technology. This agreement is hugely beneficial to Network Engines’ expansion plans in the region and working with a well-established leader in the field demonstrates the demand for application security appliances for the Microsoft environment,” he added. Fusion will now look to develop a channel for Network Engines across the whole of the Middle East to further develop the vendor’s global reach. The NS Series, powered by Microsoft internet security and acceleration server 2004, is a family of multifunction application security appliances designed for small and large enterprises. According to the vendor, the appliances are developed to add ‘defence-in-depth’ protection and provide unparalleled application layer filtering inside the traditional perimeter firewall. “Network Engines have positioned themselves to be the leading player in application security appliances; and following our own due diligence, Fusion has seen great potential for the NS series in the Middle East and African markets,“ said Oliver Hayler, business development director at Fusion. “The appliance deployment concept of ease of use, strength in security and advanced caching capabilities, powered by the world class Microsoft internet security and acceleration server 2004’ make for a very compelling offering for the multifunction application-layer firewall needs of our market,” he added.
