Electronics and IT retailer Jacky’s has unveiled a new store concept. Targeted at consumers of digital devices the new Jacky’s Express format will offer a scaled-down version of the retailer’s traditional stores stocking a range of products including notebooks, pocket PCs, mobile phones and IT accessories. According to Jacky’s, the new Express stores will focus on shoppers that are already aware of products available in the market and ready to make a quick purchase. Jacky’s Express stores will be strategically located at high foot traffic locations such as gaming zones, food courts, cinemas and hypermarkets. “At Jacky’s, we strive to offer our customers innovative service offerings. After months of research and planning, we are pleased to introduce Jacky’s Express — a chain of retail outlets that will cover a maximum floor space of 500 to 1,000 square feet,” explained Ashish Panjabi, chief operating officer at Jacky’s. The first Jacky’s Express stores are now open at Century Mall in Dubai and at Safeer Mall in Sharjah. The power retailer plans to open an additional outlet at the Mall of the Emirates and has plans to launch even more stores at other retail centres during the course of 2006. Jacky’s reckons that the new Express stores, staffed by dynamic sales teams with a solid understanding of new technology products, fits well with the retailer’s latest slogan: ‘My kind of place’. The thinking behind this slogan is to make each type of Jacky’s store a location where customers receive the best service and a product range that suits their individual lifestyle.
