Sheraton Bahrain Hotel & Towers is to undergo an extensive renovation programme in readiness for becoming part of the Kingdom’s newest development — the Bahrain World Trade Centre. Located on the Bahrain Commercial Complex (BCC) site, and adjacent to the Sheraton Hotel in the heart of Manama, construction is underway for a new landmark office and retail development to be branded and operated as the Bahrain World Trade Centre (BWTC). Completion is planned for this summer. The BWTC offers a unique design comprising twin 50-floor towers, making it the tallest construction in central Manama. Apart from the twin tower commercial office building providing 43 floors of office space, the development houses an extended retail centre, adding 148 more units to the existing Bahrain Commercial Complex shopping mall. Sheraton Bahrain Hotel & Towers, which will form a component of the BWTC, will undergo an extensive facelift, to provide catering and conference facilities, along with leisure and fine dining amenities. “Obviously we are very excited to be part of this development and the vast opportunities it entails,” said Christopher Chan-Piu, area director, sales & marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Gulf, CIS and Levant. “The World Trade Centre Association has more than 300,000 members and we are looking forward to creating a very good relationship network that will generate a viable business growth in our corporate travel segment,” he added. World Trade Centre group, established in 1970, brings together exporters, importers and service providers who offer essential trade services, and consequently helps to stimulate the economy of the region it serves.
