Future TV recently kitted out its 1200 m2 studio with lighting from Martin Professional Middle East, the regional arm of Martin Professional, to enable it to host Super Star Lebanon, the regional version of the British programme, Pop Idol. The US $3million project included the installation of moving lights, conventional lighting systems and dimmers as well as rigging. “This was a huge project that included the installation of about 240 MAC moving heads, other conventional lights and dimmers,” says Samer Kaddoura, lighting designer at Future TV. “Moving heads create beam motion by panning and tilting the yoke and body of the fixture. They provide very nice lighting effectsMartin has been doing lighting installations for Future TV since 2002. This is an ongoing project.” Lighting systems installed include Fresnels from Desisti, Follow lights from Robert Juliat, systems from Avolites and several others. Also installed are Jem smoke and haze machines as well as the Maxedia PRO Digital Media Compose, a media server capable of handling a multitude of digital media. “This is the first time we have installed a Maxedia server in the TV studios in the Middle East,” says Bilal Assidi, marketing manager, Martin ME.
