Networking giant Cisco has teamed up with its partners to showcase the benefits of integrated intelligent networking solutions to customers in Kuwait. Taking place on December 21st 2005, the Cisco Expo event in Kuwait will involve participation from Trend Micro, Universe Computers, Synergy and Micromuse. “Kuwait is a very important market for Cisco,” said Samer Alkharrat, general manager at Cisco Gulf and Pakistan. “Our customers in Kuwait have deployed some of the most advanced network environments in the region, at the same time, we still see a lot of potential for growth. Cisco Expo provides us with the perfect platform to show Kuwait’s business decision makers how they can harness the power of Cisco’s solutions and consultancy to enhance the way they work.” Attendees at the event will hear from Cisco executives, partners and customers. The daylong event will also feature specific breakout sessions focused on the retail, financial, education and government sections as well as a dedicated session targeted at the needs of the small and medium business community. More than 300 top-level managers are expected to attend the event, to be held at the JW Marriott Hotel. Justin Doo, managing director at security software vendor Trend Micro’s Middle East and Africa operation, said: “The Trend Micro-Cisco relationship provides the protection which makes intelligent networking possible, by integrating network admission policy enforcement, anti-virus software, and network resources to dramatically improve security. ‘The Cisco Expo provides us with the ideal forum to highlight this relationship and explain how together we will protect Kuwaiti businesses from the next generation of online threats,” concluded Doo. Focused Cisco technology sessions will concentrate on integrated information networks, application oriented networking, business ready datacentres, IP communications, storage and security architecture and solutions. Cisco reckons that presenting these offerings alongside strategic partners in one location, it can give attendees real insight into how the technologies can improve their business processes. “The Cisco Expo is a valuable opportunity for organizations to learn how they can remain competitive by enabling the intelligent movement of data, voice and video across a system of networks that is faster, smarter and more secure,” added Alkharrat. “We expect Cisco Expo Kuwait to be one of the largest gatherings of IT professionals in Kuwait this year, and we look forward to demonstrating how Cisco’s advanced technologies are evolving, enabling customers to streamline business processes, and to increase productivity and profitability,” he concluded.
