The Middle East marketing team at infrastructure and UPS vendor APC has conjured up an innovative channel promotion to spark interest from the GCC reseller community. APC has taken reseller promotions to the next level with the launch of its latest cricket-based channel initiative.

The Middle East marketing team at infrastructure and UPS vendor APC has conjured up an innovative channel promotion to spark interest from the GCC reseller community. APC has taken reseller promotions to the next level with the launch of its latest cricket-based channel initiative The vendor’s LoveAPC campaign is offering 15 reseller sales staff the opportunity to catch a one-day cricket international between India and Pakistan in early February 2006. Sales staff at resellers can register at www.loveapc.ae and will score runs based on the APC products they sell. “The resellers in the GCC love cricket, so this was the obvious promotion to run,” said Anna Podgornaya, distribution manager at APC Middle East. “This promotion appeals to every single sales person selling APC product in the region. To score runs, registered participants can take online training courses or sell APC products. Each product has a specific number of runs allocated to it.” The first five participants to pass 2,500 runs are automatically awarded a place on the trip, while all those achieving over 100 runs are entered into a raffle for the remaining ten places. Each individual sales person will receive one raffle entry for every hundred runs that they have scored. APC’s cricket promotion is running until mid-January 2006. Maria Al-Touq, internal sales representative at APC Middle East, added: “The promotion has been a tremendous success with 40 sales staff registering to take part straight away. It has clearly captured channel interest. In total, we expect as many as 300 to 400 sales staff in the GCC reseller community to sign up.” APC’s team has been out in force on Computer Street and in Computer Plaza, signing up resellers to take part in the promotion. With the opportunity to see India and Pakistan play cricket, the promotion is already proving incredibly popular with the reseller community.
