Xerox has added to its range of colour printers and multifunction devices with several new products, which the printing giant claims are considerably cheaper than models from main rival HP. Xerox says the Phaser 7400 delivers colour pages faster and costs US$550 less than competing HP models. At a starting price of US$2,999, Xerox says the Phaser 7400 is the fastest desktop colour printer in its class. It is designed to help small and medium-sized businesses to turn out high-quality spreadsheets, brochures, presentations and other business-critical documents at 36 colour or 40 mono pages per minute (ppm). In addition, Xerox has launched a family of three black-and-white office multifunction, printing and copying products. The most advanced is the Xerox WorkCentre Pro 133, a 33ppm multifunction system that combines printing, copying, scanning, faxing and e-mailing. The offerings are the latest in a series of 40 Xerox office printers and multifunction products announced this year. Virtually all of Xerox's office product line has been refreshed within the past two years. “Productivity and value spell success for small and medium-sized businesses, and that's what these hard-working Xerox products deliver,” says Tim Williams, president, Xerox Office Group. “They perform better than the competition while being easy to use, reliable and versatile. These attributes help customers stay focused on their business and work smarter,” he adds.
