Some 232 houses will be built in Oud Al Mateena at a cost of $41.3 million. Each house will consist of five bedrooms and will be built using pre-cast concrete elements. Dubai Municipality director general, Qassim Sultan, said it was a significant move designed to provide decent living conditions for citizens and replace their old houses with new ones. “[The houses] will be constructed according to the highest engineering specifications taking into consideration the social norms and the prevalent architecture,” he said.
