Powerhouse Entertainment Specialists, an entertainment and rental company based in Sharjah, recently acquired a 40-channel Midas Siena console and a Solo-Tracking System (STS) package from local distributor, NMK Electronics. The STS package offers the end-user several capabilities to manipulate and tweak EQs for monitors on stage quickly and effortlessly using a tablet PC and a receiver. System tech and monitor engineers will be able to operate these systems with a wireless tablet. With STS, they will also have the EQ they are working on always at hand on the Master Helix Unit and on the tablet screen when a mixed output is created. “Midas and Klark Teknik products are top-of-the-line brands,” says Mario Mascarenhas, managing director of Powerhouse. “Investing in them should help boost business by a good margin, because of the renowned quality and functionality of these products.” The STS package consists of any-frame-size Siena, one DN9340 2RU Helix Master unit, one DN9344 1RU Helix 4-channel slave EQ, assorted cables, a CD-rom with all the appropriate software, a quick start guide and a free WPK-1 wireless kit. The end-user is able to connect upto six slaves to a Helix Master unit, which would give him 26 channels of EQ to configure in an 8U-rack space. The entire system can be set up using a laptop as well. This is how Powerhouse is currently using the system.
