eCompany, Etisalat’s e-company business unit has announced a strategic alliance with the Middle East and North Africa operations of Avaya to collaborate in addressing the managed converged communication needs of enterprise customers in the UAE. The two companies will act as integrated solution partners, with the solutions deployed covering hardware, applications and services. Avaya is a leading business enterprise communications provider. “This partnership will bring together eCompany’s expertise and Avaya’s experience in converged communications thereby enabling our key enterprise customers to migrate to IP telephony in a simple and cost effective manner in order to gain competitive advantage and raise customer service levels,” says Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, general manager, eCompany. “As a number of sectors in the UAE become privatised, we see tremendous potential in both converged communications and contact centres, and Avaya is a key new partner in addressing this emerging market.” As part of the agreement, eCompany and Avaya will jointly address market opportunities around the Middle East’s increasingly mobile workforce and the boosting of corporate productivity through converged communications. Julfar has identified staying in touch with end-users as one of eCompany’s greatest priorities at the present moment in time. “We are and need to continue to be very much customer oriented.” There was a product-based focus at eCompany in the past, Julfar acknowledges, but this is fast-evolving to a customer-oriented one. “Mobile penetration in the UAE has reached 100% and that means we virtually have the whole population at our fingertips, and this is a great opportunity to introduce services with solutions partners,” Julfar explains.
