Multichannel television operator, Dogus Yayin Grubu (DYG), broadcaster of the NTV and CNBC-e news channels, Discovery and NBA channels in Turkey, will deploy SeaChange International’s MediaClient architecture to develop a tightly integrated workflow between content capture and on-air programme playback. SeaChange’s MediaClient architecture enables an efficient edit-in-place, play-in-place digital media workflow that unites edit, storage and playback clients throughout a media enterprise with IP-connectivity to the centralised, format-independent storage. At DYG, four MediaClient software codecs will tie Betacam SP/SX VTRs, Avid Xpress Pro and Final Cut Pro non-linear editing suites to SeaChange’s MediaLibrary 24000 for tapeless networked broadcast operation. “We’re engineering a new methodology for our extremely demanding 24-hour news production environment programme with IP networking and massive centralised storage,” says Erhan Tellioglu, Broadcast Technologies Director, NTV. “IT networking and standards are revolutionising broadcast operations and SeaChange’s MediaClient will enable us to easily and inexpensively connect the tools we choose to the industry’s most scalable, fault-resilient storage.” Based in Istanbul, DYG is the latest operator to employ SeaChange systems for regional CNBC broadcasting. Elsewhere, CNBC Asia Pacific and CNBC India leverage SeaChange systems. “Increasingly, our broadcast customers are taking advantage of MediaClient’s IT benefits to cut costs and do more with the greater range of media at their disposal through centralised storage and media management,” says Marcello Dellepiane, VP, of SeaChange EMEA.
