Sanyo Gulf has spent the past four days hunting for new partners and tempting show delegates with its products. And, according to general manager K.S. Vasudevan, it has been successful with hundreds of visitors stopping by to check out the vendor’s latest offerings. “Gitex has been a great success for Sanyo and visitors have seen the breadth of our product portfolio,” he says. In particular, Sanyo’s digital projectors have been garnering interest and models such as the Xacti E6, the PLV 80, and the HD 200 have all been well received. “We have had a big focus on our projectors and believe that Sanyo is able to show the possibilities that exist for deploying advanced display solutions in a variety of environments,” Vasudevan says. On the partner front, Sanyo has been looking to recreate the strong relationship it has with Al Futtaim in the UAE in other markets. In particular, the vendor is keen to beef up its channel in the Levant. “We have been looking for more partners in specific countries such as Lebanon and Syria, and also a few countries in Africa,” Vasudevan says. “In terms of making contact with the relevant people, the show has been a superb platform.” Away from the main halls of Gitex, Sanyo kit has also been receiving plenty of interest from visitors to Computer Shopper. “Gitex Shopper is a once a year sales promotion opportunity,” says Vasudevan. “It is like an election for the digital IT industry. The success rate at Shopper is a real measure of consumer affinities.”
