WebTech Wireless is using Gitex as a platform to launch its new Quadrant wireless vehicle system. Quadrant provides users with GPS-based location information in real-time for efficient fleet management. Offered on a scalable platform that allows for a wide range of future enhancements, Quadrant provides mapping, reporting and messaging capability designed to help organisations lower administration costs, while increasing productivity. “With the Middle East’s logistics scene transforming, I think we may have just launched the right solution to the transporters’ nightmare, which is missing vehicles. Also, with Quadrant, organisations have the potential to realise significant return on investment through increased productivity for drivers and reduced transportation and operation costs,” says Hani Hawari, technical manager for WebTech. At the heart of this system is a WebTech Locator, which when installed in each individual vehicle provides all the field data required to improve operations. Vehicle data gathered by WebTech Locator is transmitted to the WebTech Operations Centre via wireless networks. Any internet enabled PC can have password access to enter Quadrant Online, where services such as GPS fleet tracking and two way messaging are available. Hawari is happy with the response from visitors at Gitex and has had most of his enquiries from oil companies, who will find this device very useful for crude oil containers. “From oil containers to Taxis, everyone can use this system, as messages transmitted are very inexpensive and highly affordable even to SMBs,” says Hawari.
