As part of its efforts to highlight the importance of national security in the region, Irish-based security company, Daon is showcasing a host of secure identity assurance solutions at its stand. The solutions are designed for educational, governmental and private sectors in the region. During this week, Daon will show visitors enterprise-wide identity assurance, which covers areas such as border control, frequent travellers, civil IDs and access control. According to Daon, traveller management systems are very important to the security of the UAE. “Since Dubai is a major hub for travel and tourism in the region, it is vital that it be safe and secure,” says David Bolger, pre-sales engineer EMEA. At the show, Daon is also educating visitors about the DaonEngine, which is an enterprise-class identity assurance platform. According to Daon, the platform allows organisations to deploy vendor-independent solutions — using any algorithm, device or credential. It also provides a uniform management structure across multiple identity mechanisms including biometrics, pins, travel documents and passwords. After a successful visit last year at Gitex, the company decided to come back and offer packages tailored more closely to the Middle East market. “When we came to the show last year, we first looked at the Middle East market and found a lot of security solutions missing. Our aim this year is to fil that gap,” says Bolger. So far, Daon has worked with a number of UAE companies including Protech and GBM for various government projects in the region.
