Al Yousuf is emphasising its unparalleled experience in the telecommunications sector at this year’s show. The distributor and solutions provider has been at every Gitex since its inception and has grown in stature as the show has grown in scale. “We are the most successful contact centre company in the region,” says Daoud Eid, director of IT companies at Yousuf. “We have done more than any other company in terms of building thorough solutions. We have vendors and solutions that care of all aspects of contact centre IT business, from interactive voice response (IVR) systems, to back-end integration, management systems and much more,” he explains. Avaya is Al Yousuf’s major IP telephony vendor and Eid says this has paid off as Avaya’s technology is reliable and simply works. “We have been able to do so much for contact centres. We can take them a proven solution from Avaya and install it and the customer sees that its works. Often these kind of implementations are messy but with the combination of our experience and Avaya’s top drawer solutions, we are able to avoid this pitfall,” he says. Eid sees the call centre business in the region as still having plenty of room to grow, especially as outsourced solutions are still take hold. Eid says that these are well developed in mature markets and he expects they will increase in importance in the Middle East as the market matures. “There are some companies offering outsourced services, such as Cupola Tele Services and of course Etisalat and supplying these kind of companies represents an opportunity for us. It is a part of the business we are looking forward to growing in the coming years,” says Eid. Eid also says that while Etisalat does a fantastic job, he is happy that the telecoms market in the UAE is being liberalised. This will create more opportunities by lowering the prices for telephone-based services. Al Yousuf also has a host of other vendors in its IT division, including NEC, which Eid describes as one of the strongest and most reliable brand names in high-end computer kit.
