South African telecommunications company, Swist Group is promoting its range of intelligent data management solutions at Gitex this year. Swist Group has served the South African GSM telecommunications industry since 1998, and is now eyeing the Middle East as a developing market. “[We are at Gitex] in order to expand our global market and solicit international partners,” says Erwin Blomeyer, development director, Swist Group. “It is vital [for us to be here] as it forms a large part of our global expansion strategic plan.” Swist Group is promoting Datavoir, intelligent data management solutions, and Revsure, revenue maximisation service, as well as its range of Swist services, integration, consolidation and support. The Datavoir GSM telecom suite is a comprehensive, scalable solution that comprises a core module and 15 advanced modules. While the core module provides the basic functionality needed by most GSM networks, such as billing, fraud, basic information management and network information, the advanced modules provide more specialised functions, such as interconnect and roaming billing, advanced fraud and revenue assurance, CRM and more. As all the advanced modules plug into the core module, often hidden and expensive integration costs are avoided when upgrading or adding modules. Datavoir was developed to run on high-performance, enterprise-class systems that meet the requirements of large GSM carriers needing to process hundreds of millions of transactions per day. “Running on industry standard, off-the-shelf open source systems, Datavoir allows emerging carriers to implement their central functionality at a competitive total cost of ownership,” says Herman Heunis, managing director of Swist Group. “One of the major complaints these carriers have is that they don’t have access to their call data records (CDRs). Datavoir provides full access to these records.”
