Alpha Tech, a division of Alpha 55 has introduced the next generation Jabra Bluetooth headset at Gitex. Jabra is one of the leading names in the hands-free mobile communication market. The new Jabra BT 500 is an upgraded version of the previous BT250, with this version weighing only 19 grams. This light weight is a result of the model being 30% slimmer than the previous generation headsets, which are also designed for optimal comfort. The phone also boasts a ‘mute’ function that will enhance privacy in phone conferencing. The features of this new Bluetooth headset include up to eight hours talk time and 240 hours of standby. It provides easy charging from the PC via USB cable and also supports Bluetooth 1.2 headset and hands free profiles. Though Jabra has seen success in the European market, Alpha decided to wait for Gitex to launch the product in the Middle East region. “We were here last year and the response was overwhelming, so we decided to do the product launch at Gitex,” says Julien Arnoldo, general manager, Alpha Tech. Arnoldo is confident of the product being successful, as he says weight is one of the main problems in the deployment of Bluetooth systems with this product finding the solution. Further, with Gitex, Jabra hopes the window for the new headset will be opened not only in the Middle East market, but also in the Far East regions, as Gitex sees visitors from across the globe. All Jabra models are available at Axiom outlets throughout the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf region.
