eCompany, Etisalat’s one-stop e-powerhouse is making a strong showing at Gitex as it engages with end users and showcases its corporate and consumer services. Much of the focus on the new all-service telecoms competitor has been focused on the effect such a development will have on the mobile business of Etisalat, though eCompany is also set to be affected by the entrance of the new player. As such, eCompany is on a drive to better serve the needs of all its customers, be they corporate or consumer, and better understand their requirements. “IT and telecoms are converging at a rapid pace,” says Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, general manager of eCompany. “Corporates are demanding more customised solutions and that’s why we are highlighting our products such as virtual private networks and web hosting to show what we are capable of powering,” he adds. The company has announced a significant increase in storage allowance for all its web hosting packages at no additional storage capacity for current and future needs. Storage allowances for all six web hosting packages starting from the MyWeb package at the low end of the Ultra package at the high end has been increased substantially. For MyWeb package, which has a rental charge of AED25 (US$6.81), storage has been increased to 40MB from the current 10MB, while for MySite it has been increased to 150MB from 50MB, and for the Starter package it has been increased to 250MB from 100MB. For the Economy package it has been increased to 1,000MB from 500MB, and for the Advanced package it has been increased to 3,000MB from 1,500MB, while the Ultra package has seen capacity being increased to 4,000MB from 2,000MB. “The eCompany Web Hosting service now provides customers with a feature rich and highly competitive price structure aimed at providing a superior web hosting option for customers comparable to any other offering in the market,” says Abdulla Hashim, senior manager eCompany. General manager Julfar is confident that in a competitive environment, eCompany will continue to respond to the needs of end-users. “We have always worked with a competitive mindset. Our service and pricing are amongst the best, though we remain a very profitable company,” says Julfar. “We welcome competition, it will bring out the best in us.”
