RSA Security has opened up shop in the Middle East and announced a major channel recruitment drive to attract more reseller partners across the region. The internet security firm, which previously operated through local partners, has established an office at Dubai Internet City which will be headed by Miles Rippon, sales director for the Middle East and North Africa and supported by Kieran Hernon, MEA channel manager. The move is designed to bring RSA closer to its resellers and systems integrator in a bid to drive business in the region. “Through our existing distribution channel, RSA has seen a steady adoption of its identity and access management solutions in the Middle East,” says Rippon. “We think it is the right time for RSA Security to strengthen its position in this fast growing region. Establishing our Middle East headquarters in Dubai Internet City will help us capitalise on, and develop the growth opportunities in the region’s dynamic information security market.” The company also announced plans to boost its partner network in the Middle East through its RSA SecurWorld channel program. Resellers who sign up with RSA are being promised greater financial rewards for committed partners, increased investment in sales and technical training, improved partner effectiveness in distributing up-to-the-minute information including sales leads, and access to a service designed to bring potential business opportunities to a successful close. “This program has been designed with our partners in mind, with benefits intended to help increase their revenues while enhancing their prestige and stature as a valued information security partner with the leading security solutions,” says Kieran Hernon, channel manager, Middle East and North Africa, RSA Security. “We are dedicated to our channel partners and they are vital to the ongoing success of our company. Our aim is for the RSA SecurWorld partner program to be elevated from best-in-class to best-in-industry, and we are confident that the new program gives us the foundation to accomplish that goal.” The company is displaying its full range of solutions at this year’s Gitex, the first time it has exhibited at the event in its own right. This year RSA has also teamed up with both Websence and Trend Micro to provide visitors to the show with all the best of breed security knowledge they’ll ever need. The three vendors are all exhibiting how the three technologies can be integrated to provide companies with full, end-to-end virus protection. RSA Security has also announced it has been chosen by National Bank of Abu Dhabi to help defend the bank and its customers against online fraud, phishing, identity theft and other internet security risks through its RSA SecurID technology.
