Next-generation internet telephony provider SavyTel Com-munications is banking on Gitex’s crowd-drawing charisma to help it popularise the adoption of VoIP (voice over internet protocol)-based phone calls in the Middle East. Exhibiting for the second time at Gitex, SavyTel, which claims to be already extremely active in the UAE market, is using the event to preach about the benefits of using IP technology as a cheaper alternative to traditional carriers for making quality international and domestic long-distance calling services. “We have four major offices across the globe in California (USA), Canada, Malaysia and Dubai. Being present at Gitex helps raise awareness of our brand and will hopefully bring in more customers,” says Ziad Abi-mrad, marketing director, SavyTel Communications. SavyTel’s mission, Abi-mrad says, is to provide the highest quality cost-saving communications solutions to its clients. The company aims to be the leading provider of advanced IP communication solutions, by maintaining a reliable platform and high quality customer service. “SavyTel’s products and services are characterised by value, ease of use and superior technology. We adopt the SIP protocol and can therefore offer a wide range of advanced telephony features to our customers regardless of the service being used. We are able to deliver integrated voice services and advanced voice-over IP solutions. At the event this year, we plan to put our energies into promoting broadband VoIP and wireless VoIP,” adds Abi-mrad. Some of its products include the PC-to-phone solution SavySoft Dialer, which is a software that converts a PC or a laptop into a phone-like device that delivers digital voice quality based on the latest SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) technology. Another product being presented at its stand is its IP-PBX (private branch ex-change) enterprise solution, an internet telephony-based PBX system that is ideal for companies of all sizes — be it a large corporate enterprise or a small-to-medium business. Additionally, SavyTel offers broadband telephony and Wi-Fi devices.
