Networking giant Cisco is poised to reveal its Business Communication Solution suite of products, services, and support. Targeted at the region’s small and medium business (SMB) and midmarket companies, the range will be unveiled later today. Aimed at firms with between 20 and 1000 staff, Cisco’s latest kit is aimed at customers keen to get their hands on an integrated solution, while making it even easier for partners to deploy cutting-edge voice over IP and networking solutions below the enterprise level. “This promises to be a new type of solution aimed at a new type of customer, and it really lets us move down the customer pyramid,” says Milo Schacher, senior director, commercial business global emerging markets at Cisco. “It is the first time we have developed solutions for this sector and this region that is not just based on products, but financing and services too.” Built on Cisco’s family of Catalyst Express 500 Series switches, the new solutions are expected to boast a bevy of new IP communication applications and an extended line-up of XML-enabled IP phones. As well as creating some serious buzz among its target customer base, Cisco is also looking to beef up the number of SMB-focused Middle East partners it works with. “The SMB solution offers new business opportunities for partners. This new stack of solutions is flexible, smart and simple, and integrates, voice, video and security,” Schacher says.
