Promethean International has returned for the fourth time to Gitex after receiving good responses from the schools in the Middle East. The company recently supplied 200 interactive white boards to schools managed by Global Education Management Systems (GEMS), a Dubai-based school education company. Likewise, the Ministry of Education in Bahrain has also recently invested in Promethean’s interactive teaching solutions. “About 44 of these boards have been installed at the Jumeriah College, which is owned by GEMS. My team went over to the college yesterday to train about 30 of their staff to maximise the potential of these boards,” says Margaret Allen, business development manager of Promethean International. The company is demonstrating the capabilities of its interactive white boards, its Primary and Studio software as well its Activote response devices at Gitex. “Our solutions are used by over 450,000 children in over 45 countries. It has been increasingly used in both primary and secondary schools in the United Kingdom to create a collaborative classroom environment, in which all children participate actively. And now, we see a similar response from some of the more dynamic educational institutions in the Middle East. We are expecting to sign a few deals by the end of this show,” she adds.
