Radio communications company, Team Simoco, has launched its new Xfin Blade single site trunking system at Gitex 2005. The company’s Xfin technology will be integrated into a new range of Team Simoco products from October 2005. The Blade trunking system is the first of that series. This development makes Team Simoco the first manufacturer to introduce the convergence of analogue radio and PC-based technologies. “This is a major development for the market,” says Mike Norfield, managing director of Team Simoco. “By integrating key technologies into a single unit, the Xfin Blade provides a more refined radio communications solution for organisations of any size, from taxi firms to utility companies, and ensures greater control and enhanced performance,” he adds. The first phase of the new Xfin Blade, which has been launched at this show, will provide up to 32 channels on a single site. With the second phase due to be launched in early 2006, a multi-site version will be available enabling coverage of wider geographical networks. The Blade comes with CAT5 Ethernet connectivity allowing remote configuration, monitoring and call logging, together with rapid voice and data routing. Wireless connectivity is available using an optional WiFi router and 24-hour support is available via an internet connection. The new system includes an integrated telephone port as standard, allowing dynamically allocated telephone audio to be routed over an IP network to any traffic channel. There is no call queuing until the system is at full load capacity. “This is a cost-effective system. It provides a fully functional controller and base station system in just 1U. Blade underlines the progress we are making in the development of radio communications systems that utilise the latest technology for the benefit of users. We are confident that Xfin will have a growing following among customers around the world who want performance, flexibility, security and ease-of- use, together with the reliability of Team Simoco’s expertise,” explains Norfield.
