Germany’s G-Hanz is launching two different product lines at this year’s Gitex, including a closed circuit TV joint venture with Taiwan’s Sampo. The manufacturer is also promoting its latest range of high-end plasma and LCD screens, which scale up to 37 inches and 42 inches. G-Hanz is making its second Gitex visit. The company decided to return to the show following the success of its debut participation last year. “We consider Gitex to be the most important place for us to promote ourselves in the region,” explains Jaina Shaikh, G-Hanz’s assistant manager, projects. “We had an excellent response last year, which is why we have come back.” The highlight of G-Hanz’s Gitex participation this year is the launch of its CCTV joint venture. The company, which is based in the Jebel Ali free zone in Dubai, is part of the wider cooperation between G-Hanz and Sampo, and it bring together the combined expertise of the two players in manufacturing, marketing and research. Within the Middle East market, the JV will be particularly targeting the region’s booming hospitality industry. “Every hotel has to have a security system,” says Shaikh. “It’s a necessity not a luxury.” The month-old joint venture is already bidding on a number of projects in the region. This sales work is presently being done by G-Hanz Sampo inhouse, as will any future implementation work. The company is looking to sign up partners, however, although its strong local presence means that it can afford to be choosy about whom it works with. “We are only looking for good professional partners for the CCTV, as we already have a strong project team based in Jebel Ali,” comments Shaikh. “However, it is always useful to have good partners, particularly in the Middle East,” she adds. Alongside its CCTV products, G-Hanz is also promoting its traditional plasma and LCD screens, particularly, its new 37 inch and 42 inch units. It is also hoping to meet more channel partners from across the region. “We developed a lot of new relationships last year, and we hope to do the same this time, as well,” says Shaikh.
