Intel first created platforms with which to set-up digital homes, then came ActiveMania with the software. Yesterday ActiveMania went on to announce that it has, in fact now transformed itself into what it claims is the region's first digital content aggregator. This means that digital homeowners who are running Intel-based set-ups will be able access a massive range of ActiveMania-collected digital content, from licensed music videos and movies, to e-learning materials and fun stuff for kids. ActiveMania, which developed the ActiSuite digital home solution Intel has brought on board in this region, has been working with a variety of vendors over the past year to create a comprehensive library of digital content covering movies, music, news, shopping, financial information, mobile services, kids programs, Islamic programs, educational courses, classifieds, and a variety of entertainment programs. Visitors to Intel's stand in hall 3 at yesterday's Gitex show became the first in the region to sample this content, which was displayed using state-of-the-art entertainment PCs powered by Intel's latest digital home latforms. “We are very pleased that companies such as ActiveMania are leading the digital content efforts, which are key to turning our digital home vision into reality,” said Brian Harrison, Intel's VP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Intel and ActiveMania have been cooperating with ISPs to create bundles that ease the purchase and set-up of digital home solutions, plus the companies are teaming up with many property developers to ‘build in’ these technologies into new homes.
