Dubai-based IT group Pro Technology has unveiled its biggest ever participation at this year’s Gitex. Alongside a stunning array of new products and demonstrations from the vendors it represents, Pro Technology has pulled in a bevy of senior executives to appear on its Gitex stand during the show. Senior executives from Pro Technology are lining up alongside senior management from Dicota Germany and Paul Chan, president of Storageflex. Diamond Kaufmann, co-founder of Nexsan USA is also attending the show for the first time. A host of other vendor representatives are in attendance according to Sheryl Jaber, marketing communications manager at Pro Technology. Jamal Maraqa, managing director at Pro Technology, says: “The Middle East region is now the third fastest growing IT market in the world and the UAE is at the epicentre of it all. Gitex showcases the best of brands from all over the world and Pro Technology is at the forefront of it all in trying to meet its customer expectations and write the next chapter in a digitally converging world.” Pro Technology has a range of competitive offers for its customers that are ‘bigger and better than ever before’ according to the company. A special media campaign is also under way to promote the exclusive offerings from vendors such as Apple, Dicota, Lacie and Storageflex. Key among the attractions at the stand is Apple’s new iPod Nano. This thin MP3 player is taking the audio world by storm. As well as audio, Pro Technology uses Apple for a number of other creative solutions, including carrying Final Cut Studio, which is aimed at designers. Pro Tech GM, Emad Shawqi, says however that the firm cares more about what products can do for customers than technology itself. Pro Technology offers a wide range of products and services to customers across the region. The company is broadly split into four business units: storage solutions, archiving solutions, business solutions and mobility solutions. The company currently works with 18 vendors across the Middle East and Levant and hopes to collaborate with even more suppliers as it aims to become an all-encompassing solutions provider.
