The SAP team is out in force at Gitex today, showcasing not just its enterprise software and services, but also its small and medium business focused products. In fact, SAP has officially unveiled its mySAP All-in-One product to the Middle East market today, a move the vendor believes demonstrates its commitment to boosting sales to the region’s booming SMB market. “Gitex is an opportunity for SAP to meet with new partners and customers from across the region in one convenient location,” says Peter Kwisthout, marketing & channel director at SAP Arabia. “It is also a great opportunity to show the latest technologies. We are showcasing partner solutions and are discussing new technologies such as RFID and Netweaver — an integration platform that connects third party applications with SAP products.” SAP’s offerings cover a range of business software needs including e-business, financials, logistics and HR. SAP solutions have been deployed with more than 150 clients in the region, with 25% of this customer base operating in the oil & gas sector. “Appearing at Gitex demonstrates our commitment to the region,” says Kwisthout. “Today, we have 100-plus people based in the Middle East and this gives both customers and partners an opportunity to have direct interaction with the team. This year’s event will be a great ‘window’ for displaying new technologies,” he adds. SAP Arabia is committed to expanding the depth and reach of its regional organisation in 2005 and beyond. The company is opening a new office in Oman and is also in the process of finalising further new branches in other GCC countries.
