It also saw off competition last month from Dutco Balfour Beatty, Wade Adams, Al Futtaim Carrillion and J&P to win a $25 million earthworks and infrastructure contract for the South development of the Jebel Ali Free zone. Construction on the project started two weeks ago and is due to be completed by September next year. Dubai-based retail chain Salaam Studios has also awarded the group the main contract for a $15 million project, including the construction of a large warehouse and offices that will house the corporate headquarters of Salaam Studios, located at Dubai Investment Park. It will span an area of 23 225 m2 and construction is expected to begin next month. The project is expected to be completed by August 2006. Last month the company won a $22 million contract for infrastructure works of the Techno Park phase two project in Dubai. Work on the project started three weeks ago and will be completed within 12 months. The company is also bidding for the infrastructure contract for The Villa, a residential project by Dubai Holdings. The infrastructure contract is estimated to be around $2.7 million. The winner is expected to be announced sometime next week. The new project is to be located off the Emirates Road next to the Arabian Ranches development.
