Hardware vendor Fujitsu Siemens has increased the levels of support available for partners in the Levant with the appointment of Rana Eid as the company’s first channel manager for the region. The move also creates Fujitsu Siemens’ first ever direct presence in Lebanon. Eid will take on responsibility for Fujitsu Siemens’ distribution operations in Lebanon and Jordan, engaging closely with the vendor’s first-tier partners in the region including Aptec, Hiperdist and GCE. Eid is expected to deliver double-digit market share percentage growth in both countries during the next 12 months. “With this new appointment we hope to increase share of the Lebanese laptop market by a further 10%, which would make us the market leader,” said Farid Sabbagh, director SME and channels Middle East at Fujitsu Siemens. “We are looking to build on our success in Lebanon in the second quarter of this year when our mobility units recorded a 30% market share, outperforming the competition,” he added. “The two markets differ from each other with some 70% of our business in Lebanon coming from the private sector and 80% of Jordanian sales stemming from government contracts,” concluded Sabbagh. Eid joins Fujitsu Siemens from Aptec Lebanon, where she served as Fujitsu Siemens product manager for the last three-and-a-half-years. Eid’s CV also includes stints at Beirut-based software and solutions providers, where she specialised in the SME sector and was heavily involved in big projects involving universities and hospitals.
