Having overseen more than US$2 billion in business transactions over its five-year history, Tejari is expanding its current portfolio of online procurement services and solutions with the launch of its management service for large government tenders. The firm is also looking to enhance its existing range of strategic procurement services and tools, which can be seen on Tejari’s stand in hall six. In fact, Tejari is using this week’s show to display its latest advances in electronic tender management, a new service that will enable Tejari’s trading partners to manage large, complex, mostly governmental tenders centrally through the online marketplace. The new e-Tender solution is part of Tejari’s sourcing process, in which procurement professionals utilise web-based collaborative tools to conduct the various stages of the procurement lifecycle online. Tejari’s e-Tender facility is compliant with International Procurement Directives; supports the full tender process, including advertisement, invitation to tender and reverse auctions; and possesses the functionality for contractors and subcontractors to request online quotations for all material that goes into such undertakings. Tejari’s e-Tendering service is intended to provide executives with peace of mind, knowing that their tender is being managed efficiently and reliably. Futhermore, this package is set to increase speed and management efficiency while greatly reducing costs, according to Saqib Iqbal, chief operating officer at Tejari. “e-Tender is just part of our unique sourcing solution, which also encompasses state-of-the-art e-Evaluation, e-Collaboration and e-Contract tools. As well as being fully compatible with all these tools, our tender bid management solution is an independent, completely secure package, which can be used for procurements of any size, value or complexity,” he says. As part of this week’s activities, Tejari is conducting live demonstrations of its new supplier relationship management solutions. As an extension of the company’s recently-launched Strategic Procurement Services group, companies can view a range of tools for vendor performance appraisals, spend analysis, and data cleansing. “The electronic tender management gives Tejari greater depth by tying together all of the materials needed for major infrastructure projects and centralising the procurement for these complex undertakings,” says Iqbal. “For organisations that have already adopted online procurement, supplier relationship management is the next step to ensure that you are realising the full value of dealing with your partners electronically,” he explains. A typical Tejari tradition during Gitex is to commend a number of its existing trading partners based on their level of online procurement activity throughout the year. These awards are likely to be presented to members from both the public and private sectors throughout the week.
