Kobian, the manufacturer of ‘Mercury’ branded information technology products, is launching its brand new range of lifestyle products at Gitex Dubai today. These, the vendor claims, will provide more features than similar priced products from competitors and will be targeted at the value segment. “Competitive pricing coupled with the right kind of quality has been the key to Mercury’s success in the market,” says Sunil Dandawate, managing director of Kobian Gulf. “Information technology at an affordable price drives Mercury’s sales in markets around the globe,” he adds. The company is showcasing its Intel Prescott ready PC cabinets and motherboards, while customers visiting the stand today will also get a glimpse of Kobian’s entire range of products, which includes digital cameras, MP3 players, memory products, UPS, monitors, speakers and notebooks. Increasing brand awareness is a key focus for the company this week, which is running special schemes for customers at the show. Seminars for distributors and dealers on new technology trends are also on Kobian’s agenda over the next five days. “Gitex helps us maintain contacts with our existing customers, as well as gather market information. It also helps us look for strategic competitors and keep an eye on the competition in the local market,” says Dandawate. “The Middle East region has a strong knowledge of emerging technologies and growing desire for Western products. This region is a springboard to other world markets,” he adds.
