As part of its new enterprise focus in the Middle East, Sky Electronics is displaying its own range of eXPression brand PCs and servers at Gitex today. The distributor is also showcasing components from its primary channel partners, A-Open, Tyan, Epox and AMD, and Sky is intent on setting its booth apart from rivals through good old-fashioned value. “I think that the offers we are making at Gitex will set us apart from the competition. We have 12 AMD desktop solutions, ranging from high end gaming PCs to high performance business machines and server solutions, as well as entry-level products. It is important to us to highlight that AMD is not just about desktops or workstations, but it is a serious provider of business solutions too,” says Manoj Kisani, managing director at Sky Electronics. Sky has two stands this year, one in Gitex and another at Computer Shopper arena. Sky’s Gitex stand is promoting its technologies and the brands it carries, and the Shopper stand is concentrating on selling hot deals and bundles to users, including AMD processors and A-Open peripherals. Being introduced for the first time at the show today is Sky’s new ‘X-book’ range of notebooks, which it is hoping will receive the same warm reception as previous product introductions. Although the distributor has been present at the show every year for the last 14 years, it says Gitex still plays an important role for the company. “We enter Gitex every year because we have more new technology to educate people about and it is the best platform in the region for this,” says Kisani. “A lot of people look forward to the show and see it as setting a benchmark for the latest and most cutting edge technologies,” he adds.
