SonicWall is hoping its partners are going to be in peak condition at this week’s Gitex. The gateway security specialist is hosting its largest ever regional partner during this year’s show, which it is describing as a mini “Peak Performance” event. The event, which is for existing and prospective partners, is a one-day event that will provide partners with corporate direction, product road maps and plans for the region. The company expects to have up to 60 partners at the event, with around 125 attendees overall. “Currently, with the territory expansion and partner network expansion, Gitex is the most successful marketing tool for us to do branding for end customers and partners from all over Middle East and Africa,” says Shahnawaz Sheikh, sales manager for the GCC at SonicWall. “Especially for late entrants like us in the market, Gitex is an excellent platform for us to gather partners and end customers from all over the Middle East and Africa under one roof to discuss and plan the business strategy and discuss opportunities respectively.” SonicWall opened its office in Dubai last year to support its existing channel, which has been selling the vendor’s products since 1998. The company saw sales growth last year of 60% to 70% in the region. Its product range covers antivirus, intrusion prevention, firewalls, VPNs, and content filtering services, among many others.
