Opennet Middle East & Africa, which is making its third appearance at Gitex, is demonstrating its full range of Red Hat products and services this week. In addition, the firm is running a number of presentations as it looks to explain the benefits of open source software to a range of users, including IT professionals, channel players and corporate users. “We have a number of important meetings with our partners and would-be partners from around the region this week,” says Tawfik Zitouni, managing director at Opennet MEA. “In those meetings, we will be presenting the strategy of Red Hat/Opennet for the region for the year to come.” As well as taking strategy, Opennet MEA is showcasing new products being introduced to the region, such as the Red Hat Directory Server, the Red Hat Certificate System and the Red Hat Application Server. “We are expecting tremendous interest from visitors this week, especially from those that want to know more about open source, Linux and Red Hat in particular. We are also expecting to finalise a number of new partnership agreements with key partners to further expand our coverage and market penetration,” Zitouni says. Promotions on offer for visitors to the Opennet stand include special training bundles on the Red Hat curriculum, as well as packages for corporate clients and channel partners. “Our presence at Gitex is very important as it allows us to present the latest advances in Red Hat’s products and the open source community,” Zitouni says. “At the same time, it gives us an opportunity to get a feel for the market from a different perspective and gauge the interest of the market in these technologies.” he adds.
