eCompany has launched a revamped e-mail service for its customers in the UAE, offering email addresses with room for someone’s full name. The firm expects a big uptake of its new EIM Mail Alias service, as people can set up a new address as an “alias” alongside their existing e-mail address. Customers will be able to have up to three aliases for one EIM Mail account. These new addresses will work in exactly the same way as the old ones; customers able to send and receive email with them, and they will not affect the use of existing EIM Mail addresses. “We have introduced the EIM Mail Alias service to offer convenience and heighten personalisation of the EIM Mail experience of our subscribers; they will now feel more pride and ownership with their EIM Mail identities that will encourage them to use the EIM Mail service for a wider contact base,” says Abdulla Hashim, senior manager for Marketing and Business Development at eCompany. The new addresses will be in the form of “firstname.lastname@eim.ae”, allowing customers to give themselves a much more memorable email address. Previously, eCompany mail customers could only have up to eight characters in an address, making it harder to remember.
